About Us
The Rich family have farmed at Round Chimneys since the early 1960s. Starting with a herd of dairy cows, it is now a 4th generation beef and sheep farm - a lot has changed across those decades!
There are a few things we are passionate about here at Round Chimneys, the first of which is our little corner of Dorset. We are extremely lucky to call this place home, with 300 acres of lush fields, woodland and hedgerows, stewardship of this stunning part of the world is something we love and take very seriously.
We are passionate about the animals on the farm and are committed to a high standard of welfare. Our herd of mainly Aberdeen Angus cows spend the summer months grazing the fields around the farm whilst spending the depths of winter in a nice dry barn. Our small flock of sheep spend as much time in the fields as possible, coming into a nice warm shed for lambing time in December.
We love welcoming people to stay with us. We started offering breaks in the grade 2 listed 'Churchill Cottage' back in 2002 and have since added the stunning Farmhouse. You can read more about our holiday homes here. There's always plenty to see, whatever the time of year and we are always happy to chat to guests, show them the animals and give them a taste of what's happening on the farm!
More recently we've opened up the cafe and shop, offering great coffee, cake and simple, good quality food. We also offer a selection of local produce and our produce from the farm, starting with some of the highest quality beef and lamb about! You can find out more here.
That's a little bit about us, we look forward to welcoming you soon!
